In this 6-week micro-credential, you will also learn the basics of contemporary management and leadership. Learn how to identify, analyse and apply the right information to make the right business decisions.

Intro to Management and Leadership can be stacked with Intro to Business Environments, and recognised as equivalent to a module within the Bachelor of Applied Social Science Degree.

If you meet the minimum entrance criteria, you can enrol for the degree and apply for module exemption.

Week 2: Leadership theories & organisational power and politics

Week 3: Leadership communication and employee motivation

Week 4: Managing information systems

Week 5: Managerial decision-making

Week 6: The drivers of business success and failure

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

• Discuss the role and operational functions of a general manager.
• Explore leadership theories to discuss effective leadership practices.
• Discuss information management and evaluation in decision making.
• Apply decision-making techniques and models.
• Describe factors leading to the success or failure of businesses.

You will have also created a portfolio of evidence, which you can use to demonstrate your knowledge of understanding of the core principles that inform the way managers function and lead their teams successfully.
